I've since sold it on eBay with those caveats, dug out my 1200s and bought a Traktor Z2. We played tracks for a few hours with no issues.
I've tried it on my new work laptop, a Dell Latitude with Core i7 running Windows 7, and was unable to find any way to get it recognized.Īfter all of this I was concerned it broke so I took it to a friend's house and hooked it up to his 2011 Macbook Pro. I was able to use it but it would lock up (no response to input, indicators frozen) after using it for 30 minutes to an hour and could tell when it was about to fail because the indicators would start to dim randomly. It wouldn't recognize it at all, even as an audio interface, unless I didn't have my keyboard plugged in.
I have a self built desktop that's not terribly old (P67 chipset, i5-2500K, Windows 7 64-bit) and had nothing but problems with the controller. It worked fine when I had a Macbook, but then I changed jobs and had to turn in the laptop. I've had similar issues and it's the reason I sold my DDJ-SX on eBay recently. I'd be really happy to get either laptop working, can anyone offer any advice? Google is failing me, and Serato support has given me form answers that cover the steps I've already listed.
I've gotten the newest driver for the SX on both PC's, and checked for firmware updates for USB drivers on the laptops. But Serato never gives any indication that it's aware a controller has been plugged in.
It shows up in device manager, identified correctly. With my Dell Inspiron, also running windows 7, it's like Serato never sees the controller. I've already made sure that windows isn't using the device for audio output, which seems to be the common fix for this problem.
With my Toshiba Satellite P855 running Windows 7, when I plug in the controller, the Serato screen flashes to the online/dual deck mode, then immediately goes back into offline and says "audio error" on the bottom of the screen. I've gotten it home and tested it with 2 laptops, and can't get it to work with either - and both have different issues. I did, however, get MIDI-OX, and verify that all the controls worked.
We met at a Starbucks with the slowest WiFi I've ever used, and i wasn't able to download Serato at the time. The seller demonstrated the controller working with his Mac. Controller and flight case for $500, I was pretty happy. So i bought a used DDJ-SX from Craigslist.
